Newsvetter

Level OS was hired by Andrew Fowler of Single Cell, LLC to develop a website allowing news presenters to submit stories which will then be picked up by the media.  According to Andrew,

Newsvetter allows communications professionals (and others) to vet the substance of their news before sending it to the news media.  Andrew developed a vetting process to provide communications professionals a framework for sending high quality story ideas.  Media can subscribe tonews feeds in areas that interest them and can rate and comment on any news submission.

There are two groups of users in the system, news presenters and the media. Andrew developed a vetting form which the presenters submit, and media can browse stories by category or tag.
From the site:

News presenters submit story ideas after completing an online vetting questionnaire. The vetting questionnaire contains a list of key questions asked by the news media when evaluating stories for publication. News media review the submissions, provide feedback in the form of ratings and comments, and, if warranted, contact news presenters to discuss possible publication of their story ideas.

Some highlights:

  1. Subscribe to receive email notifications when stories are posted to categories or tags you are interested in.
  2. Presenters can send stories to a particular reporter.
  3. Stories can be rated by the media.
  4. The site is based on the Drupal content management system.
  5. The site was design by Annette Sabo Designs.
